Plan Smart Book Club.
Start a book club designed to engage parents or students.   Together, you and a small group study issues relevant to the emotional and social needs of students (examples: divorce, bullying, social skills, anger management).

Plan Smart Book Club includes a list of books selected by School Counselors that have successfully been used in counselor / parent and counselor / student bookclubs.

For each book we will include:

A flyer invitation The flyer describes the book’s content.   You modify this word document and send it to people inviting them to attend An e-mail invitation Similar to the flyer but appropriate to cut and paste into an email A web page invitation Similar to the flyer but appropriate to post on your parent portal. Discussion questions to guide your meeting This could be available to the participants ahead of time or could be used as an outline by the group leader. A survey template Use this to follow-up your Book Club Meeting and ask for suggestions for future meetings.
